IChemE is the Institution for Chemical Engineers, with an International membership of over 27,000 in 115 countries.

Students from UCT, US, UP, UKZN and NWU may join both Institutions at the same time for a hugely discounted amount of R260. (You have to complete your 1st year first.)

This is a once off fee which is valid for as long as you are a fulltime student.

How do I pay my renewal fees if I am a SAIChE member?
As a service to its members, all IChemE renewal fees can be paid directly to SAIChE once a year (during December to January ONLY) Fees may be paid by Cheque or Internet transfer(Preferred). (Cheques may be posted to SAIChE or paid into the SAIChE account): SAIChE will transfer the relevant funds to IChemE in bulk during February.

Where applicable, the Annual Renewal fee for registered Chartered Engineers (C.Eng) is also indicated on the Membership renewal form and payment must be submitted with your IChemE membership fees.

 

It will be appreciated if you would return the signed membership renewal form together with next year's membership fees/deposit slip to SAIChE. It is essential to quote your Surname and IChemE membership number on the transfer/deposit slip. As SAIChE has to transfer the fees to IChemE before mid February, the deadline for payment of your IChemE subscription fees is 31 January.

 

Should we not receive your fees by this date, you will have to make arrangements to transfer the fees directly to IChemE through your own bank.

Please note that SAIChE receives no discount on these fees and it must be paid in full together with your IChemE subscription fees for the coming year. IChemE submits these fees to the Engineering Council in the UK.

If you are not yet registered as a Chartered Engineer and wish to apply, please note that one year's C.Eng fee must be submitted with your IChemE membership fee.

No. Only SAIChE members are eligible for the discount. Non-members of SAIChE may also make use of this service, but please note that the discounted membership fees shown in SAIChE's IChemE Fees Notice are ONLY applicable to fully paid-up members of the South African Institution of Chemical Engineers. If your SAIChE fees have not reached the office by the time you make your IChemE payment, you have to pay the FULL ICHemE fee.

Other IChemE members have to pay the amount allocated by IChemE on their statement.
